Feed-in-tariff

Introduced in April 2010, the Feed-in-tariff pays owners of wind turbines and solar photovoltaic panels a guaranteed price for each unit of electricity generated. The payments are exempt from income tax and are guaranteed to last for 20 years (wind turbines) or 25 years (solar PV panels).
