In this weeks update, the National Grid has revealed a record was set this week for the amount of electricity generated by wind turbines connected to the Great Britain power transmission system, with wind accounting for 4.7% of total generation at one point on Monday.

In Scottish news, the government have announced that they are now halfway to meeting their 2020 climate goals. If only the same could be said of England.
And finally, a 20MW ‘Wave Hub’ has been successfully installed on the sea-bed just off Cornwall. Read more about it here – it’s exciting stuff! I could make a joke about ‘surfing a wave of progress’ or something, but that would be cheap, and Cornwall is very expensive.
